I’m a little late on this one, but here are one of my summertime brides from 2013. Makiko Tsukamoto married the love of her life, David Quint, on a sunny June day in Los Angeles, Calif. Initially, this happy-go-lucky bride wanted a dark eye/light lip makeup look for her wedding. During the trial run, I gave her a smoky eye with a pinky-nude lip on one side, and I coaxed her into trying a neutral eye with a bold red lip on the other. To my delight, she chose to go BOLD and went with the red lip! I love when brides like Makiko step outside their comfort zone and try something different- and this is why trial runs are so important. You never know what will look good on your until you try it!
Makiko went with a hi-lo lace wedding gown and ankle-strap heels. David looks handsome in his dark suit and maroon tie, which compliments the flowers.
Here are David and Makiko with their very floral, good-looking crew
Even though it’s slightly blurry, I love this photo of this fun-loving couple. I really liked the homage to Makiko’s Japanese heratige in their decor…those fans are gorgeous and cast a pretty light on the room.
Another way David and Makiko included her culture was by wearing the traditional Japanese wedding garments for the first portion of their big day. So beautiful! They later changed into their classic suit/tie and white gown outfits.
