What is the length of time for an application?

I like to set aside about 45 minutes to an hour for single clients and brides. When doing a larger party I try to complete each makeup in 30-45 minutes.

Do you offer trials and consultations?

Yes, and I highly recommend them, especially for brides. It’s important for me to know exactly what you want for your wedding day, and having a trial run will allow us to try different looks until you love your look. Trial runs also help make the day-of more seamless and application time go more quickly.

Can you service a large group  or bridal party?

Yes. With over 500 weddings under my belt, I have plenty of experience with time management and will keep everyone on schedule. If there are more than five people in your party I will bring a second Leading Lady Makeup artist to assist me with getting everyone ready at no additional cost to you. This reduces getting-ready time in half. Group pricing is also available.

What is the difference between airbrush and regular makeup?

Airbrush makeup is when makeup artists use an airbrush compressor machine to apply alcohol-based foundation (and sometimes blush) on your skin. Airbrush foundation is great because it is sheer and waterproof. However, most brides want more coverage on their big day and oftentimes find the airbrush to be too sheer and need both regular makeup and airbrush to cover texture on the skin. Airbrush foundation can also dry out your skin due to the alcohol content. Regular foundations have been developed and improved in the last decade to be HD-ready and cover more flawlessly than ever before, so the need for airbrush makeup is more something that is used in productions or special effects.

Lash Extensions vs. Fake Eyelashes

If you have lash extensions, makeup artists will leave them alone so not to disturb the work. Mascara and curling is not applied to lash extensions. Lash extensions can be beautiful but may irritate your skin and eyes and can also cause natural lashes to fall out. It’s always a good idea to do a test run before your wedding day to make sure you want them.

Makeup artists can apply fake strip eyelashes and individual lashes for you on the day-of.  Individual lashes are made of 2-3 hairs bunched together and feel light and are customizable. Strip lashes will give an instant “va-va voom” to your look and photograph beautifully. Both styles of lashes are attached with medical grade glue to the skin, not the actual lash hairs. You can remove them at the end of your event.

Are you able to come to me?

Absolutely. I don’t charge mileage for the immediate Las Vegas area. The client is also responsible for any valet/parking reimbursement. I am available for travel for large events and am often in southern California for work.

What is your sanitation protocol to protect from COVID-19?

All Leading Lady Makeup artists will arrive with PPE (mask and gloves) on.  We use disinfectant wipes on counters and areas to be utilized. We also use 91% alcohol to sterilize all solid products, tools and surfaces used. We apply a UV light device to sterilize all powder products and anything else that cannot be sterilized with alcohol. We also keep a closed container for used tools and items that need to be re-sanitized and kept separate from everything else.

Skin Prep

  • Two weeks out- facials, waxes, laser, threading, extractions, etc.

  • One week prior: reduce the amount of alcohol and smoking, get lots of sleep and hydrate with a ton of water.

  • One day prior: exfoliate with a light-weight scrub to bring up the freshest skin possible. Moisturize after.
