Spring Nail Art – WITH PHOTOS

Missed my nails? Well here’s a recap of all the nail art I’ve been sporting in the new year. Before we start I just want to clarify that I am NOT a professional manicurist, I am simply a nail art enthusiast and trust me, my designs are all kinds of wobbly and imperfect. But who cares? They’re just nails. Anyway, let’s dig in!

You will notice that lately I’ve been obsessed with Essie’s Minted Candy Apple shade. It’s slightly brighter than last year’s seafoam-green trend and it just makes me happy. The cool pastel will brighten up your finger tips while still being “office-friendly.” Here I paired it with Essie’s Chinchilly and a silver metallic shade to bring you an argyle print.

I followed up with a simple and easy polka-dot design. Paint your nails two coats of your favorite mint shade, then spot on silver polka-dots with the end of a bobby pin. InstaCUTE!

Here I tried it with Loreal’s Nail Lingerie on top. I loved the way this turned out! If you missed my last post, click HERE to watch my review of the Colour Riche Nail Lingerie.IMG_2622

I took a break from the mint and stepped into the Pantone Color of The Year, Emerald. I went with Revlon’s lovely shade called Posh and threw in some black and white dots and stripes for fun.IMG_2699

Looks like I missed that Minted Candy Apple again. To “spring” it up, I threw on some black and white daisies over (gasp!) clear, bald nails.IMG_2843

Here’s what I’m currently wearing, and what I’m most proud of. I can’t begin to describe my love for the black and white trend we are seeing on the runways for Spring. Everyone looks good in this combo! It translates beautifully into nail art. I did daisies on the thumb, Beetlejuice-esque stripes, reverse polka-dots, white lace and a stamp-on graffiti design. Hope you enjoyed this peek into my nail-art life! Which design will you try?

Drug Store Cosmetics Review – WITH VIDEO

IMG_4397

Hello beauty lovers, and welcome to a new week! March is here; the weather is warm and my backyard is once again a brothel for the neighborhood birds.

It’s been a while since I’ve made a haul/review video so I thought I’d share some of my latest drug store beauty finds with you.

Now this isn’t just your average “here’s what I love” video. I also included the stuff I wasn’t impressed with. Click below to see what I would truly buy again and what was a total disappointment.

QUICK RECAP

Bio Oil – Love it, great for stretch marks, scars and even dry skin and eczema! If you are pregnant, I recommend dousing your belly and thighs every night in the oil before you sleep, even before you start to show. Coat the area and rub it in with your hands. This will help prevent stretch marks as your belly grows into the second and third trimesters.

Maybelline Baby Lips– Not impressed. A cheap thrill that smells artificial and does nothing to hydrate your lips. Let’s not even bring up the hideous frosty finish.

NYX The Curve – Decent liquid eye liner for the price and great applicator for beginners!

Kiss Nail Dress – These are fragile and won’t last through a shower. I only recommend these for a night out.

Loreal True Match Concealer Stick – Don’t love the formula for concealing, but it’s fantastic for contour and highighting! Buy shades lighter and darker than you and draw them right on. Blend in with your fingers or a sponge and you are set.

Milani Liquid Eye Pencil – Amazing long wearing eye liner, especially for the low price point! Great for the eyelid or the waterline. The brown is my fave.

Revlon Grow Luscious – Obsessed. I buy this mascara over and over again. It feels velvety-soft on the lashes and helps them grow at the same time. I love the big bushy brush on this!

Loreal Color Riche Nail Lingerie – Clear nail tape with delicate gold and silver embellishments, these are beautiful over solid nail polish colors! Don’t apply them the way it says on the box because it will cause fraying. I recommend placing them one at a time on your nails then warming them up with a blow dryer. Smooth down the warmed edges with a nail file for smooth edges.

Have you tried any of these products? What do you love/hate about them?
