DIY Shampoo

Hello all my DIYers,

I want to share a new do-it-yourself recipe with you on how to make your own shampoo. This is a great option for those of you who want to go the all-natural, and even vegan, route. And yes, I double and triple checked: this recipe IS vegan!

This is also great for those of you with babies or large families: it’s something everyone can use!

INGREDIENTS

1/3 Cup of Castille Soap (like Dr. Broner’s- I like the peppermint kind because it’s tingly, you can go with one of the milder scents if that’s your jam)

1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil (organic and virgin)

1 Teaspoon Almond Oil (100% pure)

1/4 Cup of Coconut Milk

10-20 Drops of Essential Oil (any scent you like)

A little bit goes a long way with this product. I keep a small bottle of it in the shower and store a bigger bottle in the fridge for later use. Your hair will smell amazing! Click below to watch the steps:

DIY All Natural Lip Balm

A couple evenings ago, I got a little crafty and came up with this all-natural lip balm. What’s great about this recipe is that it’s easy to make and has very few ingredients. This yum-tastic lip balm is a great stocking stuffer for the holiday seasons, and is great for everyone on your list from moms, dads, boyfriends and kids!

INGREDIENTS

Honey

Coconut Oil

Almond Oil

Beeswax

Side note: you can purchase beeswax pellets online to make the process easier, but it’s pricier. I stuck to buying a beeswax candle and grating it to little pieces.

RECIPE

Combine 1 Tablespoon of Coconut oil, 1 Tablespoon of Almond Oil and 1 1/2 Teaspoons of Beeswax in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave until it’s all melted.

Mix the melted liquid and add 1 1/2 teaspoons of honey. Whisk together then pour into individual containers.

Let the lip balm harden for 30 minutes before closing the lids.

Done!
